Friday Notes, September 3rd
Good afternoon families,

What an incredible first week! We have truly enjoyed having the hallways and classrooms filled with students again. In every classroom I visited, students were engaged, interacting with each other, and were genuinely happy to be together again. We know this year is another year of uncertainty and we thank you for trusting us with your students. Just a few friendly notes and reminders:

  • When dropping off students, please drop them off on the walkway in the front of the building. Stopping on the main road causes traffic and can be dangerous for students walking. Also, if you have a student in your car, please pull up as close as possible to the crosswalk to drop your child off. This allows all of the cars behind you to do the same and keep the flow of traffic moving.

  • Open House will be live, virtual event. It will be on Wednesday September 22nd from 5:30-7pm. Parents will follow their child’s Monday schedule and Team Leaders will be sharing the Zoom links the week of Open House. Teachers will give a brief overview of their classes and there will be a few minutes for questions. More information will be shared as we get closer to the event.
  • Please remind your students to wear their masks over their mouth and nose. We will be opening a second cafeteria location next week to allow for more spacing.
  • If there is inclement weather, we will allow students to enter the building at 7:20am and proceed to designated spaces to wait for school to begin. Extra help before and after school will begin the week of September 13th.
  • All clubs and activities will begin the week of September 27th and late buses will start that week as well. A list of all clubs and activities will be sent soon, so please be on the lookout for this message.
  • School is closed on Monday 9/6 for Labor Day and Tuesday 9/7 for Rosh Hashanah. We will see you all Wednesday 9/8. Please remind students they will report to their first scheduled class on Wednesday, not FLEX.

Again, I thank you for the collaboration and partnership in working with your children.

I hope you enjoy the long weekend,

Karolyn
