Report An Absence

For all Absences and Early Dismissals, do one of the following:

Call Attendance Line @ 203.655.2518,  Ext: 3 when prompted.

      -OR-

Email your message to a dedicated MMS email address: 

MMSATT@darienps.org.

 

DAILY ATTENDANCE: If student is not in class Block 1 when their teacher takes attendance, student will be marked absent. The Connecticut attendance law allows student ten absences, excused or unexcused. Following the 10th absence, parents/guardians must provide a doctor’s note for an absence due to illness, and Aspen will generate an email stating that your student has exceeded the allotted number. The Administration is committed to working with all families to help ensure consistent student attendance.

 

TARDY PROCEDURE & ROBOCALLS: 

Students arriving after school starts must check in with front office, otherwise student may still be marked absent and parents will get robocall.  

 

EARLY DISMISSALS:

In addition to reporting the dismissal to either the Attendance Line or the Attendance Email, you also need to send a signed note in with your student that day. Your student must bring the note to the main office when they arrive to school, where they will then be given a Pass to leave class at that designated time.
