2026-01-30 -- Principal's Email
Good evening, MMS Families,
This weekend we are looking forward to the Middlesex Players’ performance of Bye Bye Birdie! Last night’s opening show was reportedly phenomenal! Tonight’s show is almost sold out, and I can't wait to see it tomorrow -- so be sure to grab remaining tickets here!
While we were met with an unexpected situation yesterday afternoon, I am thankful for everyone’s cooperation and understanding as we worked with first responders to keep our school community safe. Our priority in emergency situations is always student wellbeing, and to that end our monthly drills prepare our faculty and students to follow our district’s emergency response procedures. Yesterday morning we held a lockdown drill; the afternoon’s fire alarm called on faculty and students to implement the procedures we have routinely practiced for exiting the building. I also want to share that our team reviews our experiences to reflect on areas of success in incident management and determine where we can continue to improve and provide training.
Looking forward, 8th grade families, please see this document for information regarding 9th grade placement criteria in English, Science, and History. Score information (DRP results, benchmark, and midyear grades) will be shared through Aspen next week. Quarter 2 report cards will also be published mid-week for all students, and I will send a confirmation of their publication.
The following week, we will be joining the District in celebrating Kindness Week. The MPA invites all MMS students to participate in creating centerpieces for the Mather Senior Center’s Valentine’s luncheon. The project will take place in the MMS cafeteria on Wednesday, February 11th until 3:30 pm. Please click here to sign up!
Sincerely,
Kate Dimoulas (she/her/hers)
