Dear MMS Families,
Happy First Day of Spring! This week, our student-led No Place for Hate committee introduced their first school-wide activity with a Flex lesson on being an upstander: someone who chooses to help or speak up in a safe way. Our students’ work exemplified attributes of our Vision of the Graduate, building our Communication skills to empower ourselves and others to act with Integrity.
Next week, on Friday, March 27: 8th grade students will visit DHS! As part of their transition to high school, all 8th grade students will be visiting DHS (departing shortly after 8:00 and returning around 10:00). During the visit, students will have the opportunity to purchase breakfast, spend time in the cafeteria getting familiar with the space, and hear from DHS students about the many clubs and activities available. They will also gather in the auditorium for a Q&A session with teachers, administrators, and students to learn more about life at DHS.
Upcoming:
4/2: 6th Grade Field Trip to the CT Science Center
4/6 - 4/10: 5th grade visits to MMS
4/11- 4/19: April Break
Eid Mubarak to all of our families celebrating,
Kate Dimoulas (she/her/hers)

Moments in the Middle March 16-20
Each day in March, a student shares a Math Fact on the daily morning announcements!
Folding a standard piece of paper in half 42 times would create a stack thick enough to reach the moon.
Forty is the only number that is spelled in alphabetical order.
Composers have arranged the digits of Pi into songs using corresponding notes.
