Dear MMS Families,

Thank you to the many students and staff who have contributed non-perishable foods to the MMS Student Council’s Food Drive for Person 2 Person! Items will continue to be collected on Monday and Tuesday; we appreciate your support of our students’ efforts and your generosity to the community.

Next week, we are looking forward to a 6th Grade Team Day on Tuesday! As a friendly reminder, there is no school on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. Students are being encouraged to clean out their lockers ahead of the long weekend; it's a good time to make sure any food containers you have sent to school have made their way home. Thank you in advance to the MPA for the generous gift of delicious pies to the MMS faculty and staff next week.

Looking ahead, we are excited for our upcoming winter concerts. Orchestra kicks off on December 4, followed by Band on December 8, and Chorus on December 10. Concerts will take place in the DHS Auditorium. Our students are sounding great in rehearsals, so I’m certain the performances will be excellent!

On December 11 at 9:00 a.m., the MMS administration in partnership with the MPA invite you to join for Coffee with Karla for an informative discussion on the eating habits and trends we are seeing among middle school students:

Karla Greto, TeenTalk Counselor, and Dani Jenkins, School Counselor, will share insights from their work with students and families at MMS. Sarah McCarty of Thriving Youth Darien will join to provide an overview of recent youth survey data and what it reveals about current nutrition and wellness behaviors. This session is designed to help parents better understand the challenges today’s youth are facing and explore ways we can work together to support healthy, balanced habits at home and in school. Enjoy coffee, connection, and meaningful conversation.

Have a lovely weekend,
