Dear MMS Families,

Today we had our first STAR Flex, in which we Sit Together and Read. I shared that at home my daughter and I are reading together Adventures beyond Nutmouse Hall (Nutmeg and Tumtum) and my current professional read is Optimal by Daniel Goleman & Cary Cherniss. I hope you will ask your child(ren) about their current reads and share with them about what you’ve had a chance to read this week. 

Initial feedback on lunch and recess is positive, and our roll out of SmartPass and FlexScheduler is going well. If you missed last week’s Friday Note, you may want to read more there.  

Our Seventh Grade families should have received Mr. Monahan’s email about an upcoming field trip to Medieval Times. Sixth and Eighth grade families will be receiving information about their first grade level events of the year in the coming weeks. 

A few families reached out with questions about Clubs and after school activities. We are in the process of finalizing meeting schedules for this year and will be sharing out a Virtual Club Fair with students mid-month. In the meantime, you are welcome to peruse last year’s information here to get an idea of Club offerings.
